Springbank Hill Community Park Construction To Start This Summer!

Jun 28th, 2018 | By | Category: SBHCA News

The SBHCA is pleased to announce that we are now ready to construct the Springbank Hill Community Park!

Over the course of the last 10 years, the Springbank Hill Community Association has taken time to envision a project and consult our community members on the development of 6.29 acres of land on 26 Avenue SW, between 77 street and 69 Street.  It’s taken us as many years to raise the funds and we are so pleased that on June 25 City Council approved additional funds to allow us to complete the Springbank Hill Community Park project in 2018!

The SBHCA would like to thank the countless community members and volunteers who have contributed to the development of the vision for the park, attended community engagement sessions, wrote letters of support, and gave of their time and knowledge to create an incredible park that Calgarians will enjoy for decades to come! Thank you.

The park’s design features formal community gathering spaces as a focal point, as well as informal spaces with 5 acres of heavily forested natural areas that create nodes for discovery, interaction with nature, unstructured play, and personal reflection.

We expect to start construction later this summer with a completion date by early fall 2018.  Look for information on our website about the construction progress.
